HNGU M.Phil/ Ph.D Admission 2017-18 Procedure-
Admission Process:
The candidates for M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes will be admitted by two stage process through written test and interview/viva-voce-
Qualifying cut-off marks in Entrance Test: 50% for General; 45% for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently Abled categories.
All the candidates who qualify Entrance Test will be called for interview along with the candidates exempted from the written test. Regularly appointed teachers of this University/ Teacher Fellow (Under UGC Scheme)/ Students who have qualified NET/SLET-Uttarakhand/ GATE and M.Phil candidates of HNB Garhwal University in the concerned subject are exempted from entrance test; but they have to apply ONLINE on prescribed form before the due date along with requisite fee.
Candidates who qualify the written test should bring the hard copy of their on line application (along with all original documents and certificates) at the time of interview.
The interview/viva voce shall also consider the following aspects, viz. whether:
- the candidate possesses the competence for the proposed research;
- the research work can be suitably undertaken at the Institution/College;
- the proposed area of research can contribute to new/additional knowledge.
The result of M.Phil./Ph.D. Entrance Test shall be valid for admission for 2017-2018 academic session only.
Allotment of seats in the Campuses and affiliated colleges will be made on the basis of overall merit and preference opted by the candidates.
