The The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) – 2018 inputs for admission into Ph.D / Integrated Ph.D Program in Physics / Theoretical Computer Science / Neuroscience / Computational Biology. The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali shall conduct the Joint Entrance Screening Test 2018 for admission into the fore cited Doctorate of Philosophy / Integrated Doctorate of Philosophy Program in Physics or Theoretical Computer Science or Neuroscience or Computational Biology.

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research may release in November 2017 Detailed Notification in respect of the Joint Entrance Screening Test 2018 for the Candidates.

Having reference to the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research conducted Joint Entrance Screening Test 2018 in February / March 2018, we anticipate the JEST 2018 Organizing IISER Organization to host in February 2018.

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, prior to announcing the Results for the Joint Entrance Screening Test 2018, shall release the Optical Mark Recognition Based Answer Sheet / Answers Key in Set A, Set B, Set C & Set D Series of the Part A and Part B of Physics Subject Paper of the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST), 2018 in the Portable Document Format (PDF) File. The Results for Joint Entrance Screening Test 2018 would be announced only upon issuance of the Final Answers Key in Optical Mark Recognition Based Answer Sheet. The Joint Entrance Screening Test 2018 carrying Maximum 100 Marks to be held in various parts of the country shall be as here under:

Part A comprising 25 Objective-Type Multiple Choice Questions carrying 75 Marks;

Part B comprising 25 Multiple Choice Questions carrying 25 Marks Totaling 100 Marks;

The Joint Entrance Screening Test 2018 shall have the Objective-Type Multiple Choice Questions based on the Chapters; viz., i) Mathematical Methods, ii) Classical Mechanics, iii) Electromagnetic Theory, iv) Quantum Mechanics, v) Thermodynamics and Statistical Physics, vi) Solid State Physics, vii) Nuclear and Particle Physics, viii) Atomic and Optical Physics, ix) Experimental Data and Error Analysis Probability Theory.

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research might announce in April 2018 the Result of the JEST 2018 for admission into Ph.D / Integrated Ph.D Program in Physics / Theoretical Computer Science / Neuroscience / Computational Biology. The admission of the Candidates into following Programs for award of Research Fellowship shall be strictly in order of All India Merit List drawn up based on their performance and Marks in the Written Part of

Ph.D. Programs
Physics:

M.Sc. in Physics or M.Sc. / M.E. / M.Tech. in the Related Disciplines.

M.Sc. in Mathematics / Applied Physics / Applied Mathematics / Optics and Photonics / Instrumentation / Electronics will also be considered at IIA.

B.E. or B.Tech. shall also be considered at the IISc, IMSc, ICTS-TIFR, IUCAA, JNCASR, NCRA-TIFR, TIFR-TCIS, RRI, IISER Mohali, IISER Pune, IISER Thiruvananthapuram and SNBNCBS.

Talented Final Year B.Sc. and First Year M.Sc. in Physics / Electronics / Astronomy / Applied Mathematics Students may also apply to be pre-selected for Research Scholarship at the IUCAA.

M.Sc. in Physics, Engineering Physics or Applied Physics will also be considered at IPR. At Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), only B.Tech Engg. Phys. and M.Sc. Physics are Eligible.

Theoretical Computer Science/Neuroscience/Computational Biology:

M.Sc. / M.E. / M.Tech. / M.C.A. in Computer Science and the related Disciplines, and should be interested in the Mathematical Aspects of Computer Science. Details available on IMSc Website for further details. M.Sc (Physics / Mathematics), B.E/ B.Tech. / M.C.A in Computer Science for Ph.D. in Neuroscience at NBRC.

M.Sc. / M.E. / M.Tech. / MCA in any Engineering or Science Discipline, with good Mathematical Skills and strong interest in Biological Problems for Ph.D. in Computational Biology at IMSc.

Integrated M.Sc. / M.Tech – Ph.D Program:

At HRI, IISER-Pune, ICTS-TIFR, SNBNCBS, NCRA-TIFR, and TIFR-TCIS candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree will also be considered for the Integrated M.Sc., Ph.D. Programme in Physics.

At IMSc, Graduates with Bachelor’s Degree in Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science / Information Technology / Engineering will also be considered for Admission in Physics and in Theoretical Computer Science, as part of an Integrated Ph.D. Programme. All candidates successful in the Course Work of this Programme shall be awarded an M.Sc. Degree.

At SNBNCBS, Graduates with B.Sc. (Physics) / B.E. / B.Tech. Degree will be considered for the Integrated Post-B.Sc.-Ph.D. Programme in the Subject areas mentioned above.

At IIA, Graduates with B.Sc. (Physics / Mathematics) / B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical / Instrumentation / Engineering Physics / Electronics and Communications / Computer Science and Engineering / Optics and Photonics would be considered.

At NBRC, B.Sc. (Physics/ Mathematics) & B.E. / B.Tech. (Computer Science) shall be considered for Integrated M.Sc-Ph.D in Neuroscience.

Integrated M.Tech – Ph.D. Programme at IIA:
