TIFR GS 2018 – Online Registration Schedule: Online Registration in response to Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) Graduate School Admissions 2018 Notification has commenced, being in progress shall close on the 12^th of October 2017 (12.10.2017). TIFR Graduate School Admission 2018 Examination Results:

The Office of the Controller of Examinations shall host on the 10^th of December 2017 (10.12.2017) Country-wide National Level Entrance Test for the Candidates for Admission into Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Graduate School through TIFR Admission School Entrance Examination 2018 for Admission into the Subjects mentioned in the Tabular format in the subsequent Part.

The Office of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research will announce on the 31^st of January 2018 (31.01.2018) the Result for the TIFR GSA 2018 Entrance Test.

TIFR GS 2018 Entrance Examination e-Admit Cards Download:

The Office of the Controller of Examinations shall release the electronic Admit Cards for the Candidates likely to appear in the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Graduate School Admissions 2017 Entrance Test. The Controller of Examinations will upload on TIFR Web Link the e-Admission Tickets / Hall Examination Tickets for the Candidates. The Candidates would be able to download their respective e-Hall Tickets commencing on the 10^th of November 2017 onwards. We would like to hereby advise the Candidates to ensure that their individual e-Hall Tickets downloaded by them are proper in all respects. In case of oversight / inaccuracy noticed in any form, the Candidates are advised to report to the Office of the Controller of Examinations in respect of the same. And they may to gain access to the Controller of Examinations through the Official Website.

The Controller of Examinations, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research organized TIFR Graduate School Admissions 2017 was as mentioned hereunder. However, the Modality of the Entrance Test is likely to remain variable in Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Graduate School Admission 2018.

*Subject*	*Procedure for Admission*
*Mathematics:* Paper in *Mathematics* consists of Two Parts Part I & Part II comprising 30 Include 10 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions. For every Correct Response to each Correct Response to the Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions comprised in Part I carry 02 Marks with Penalty in Deduction of the 01 Mark for each Incorrect Response. There shall be No Negative Marking for Wrong / Incorrect Answers to the Multiple Choice Questions of Objective Type in Part II. Entrance Examination for the TIFR Graduate Programs 2017 in Mathematics (PhD and Integrated PhD at TIFR, Mumbai, PhD and Integrated PhD at CAM, Bengaluru, and PhD at ICTS, Bengaluru) will consist of an Online Computer Based Test / Optical Markup Reader Based Written Examination and an Interview, as follows:	*Selection Interviews:* Based on the Candidates’ Combined Performance and Minimum Qualifying Marks obtained in Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Graduate Admissions School 2018, further Shortlisting shall be drawn up for each Program. The Shortlisted Candidates will be called for Final Selection Interviews for various Programs offered by Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in different Campuses of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. *Selection Procedure:* The Answers for Part I will be Machine-graded. Part I Score will be used to decide a Cut-off. Answer Papers for Part II will be graded only for those Candidates whose Score is above the Cut-off. The List of Candidates to be called for Interview for the Final Selection for Admission in the various Programs will be decided on the basis of the Combined Performance in Part-I and Part-II, Weighted appropriately for each Program.

*Physics:*	*Selection Interviews:* Based on the Candidates’ Combined Performance and Minimum Qualifying Marks obtained in Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Graduate Admissions School 2018, further Shortlisting shall be drawn up for each Program. The Shortlisted Candidates will be called for Final Selection Interviews for various Programs offered by Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in different Campuses of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research.
*Physics* Paper shall be of 03 Hours’ Examination Duration (Group X & Physics Group – Y) consisting of 03 Sections each shall comprise 55 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions each. Every Correct Answer to every Correct Multiple Choice Questions of Objective Type shall carry +03 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions / + 05 Marks for Numerical / Symbolic Questions with Penalty in Deduction of the 01 Mark for each Incorrect Response. Whereas Section A & Section C carry Negative Marking, Section B shall carry No Negative Marking simultaneously. The Computer Based Online Test / Optical Markup Reader Based Written Examination is typically a Course of Studies in Physics as the Main Subject in the Under Graduate and Masters Levels in any Indian University.

*Chemistry:*	*Selection Interviews:* Based on the Candidates’ Combined Performance and Minimum Qualifying Marks obtained in Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Graduate Admissions School 2018, further Shortlisting shall be drawn up for each Program. The Shortlisted Candidates will be called for Final Selection Interviews for various Programs offered by Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in different Campuses of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research.
The Paper in Chemistry (Chemical Sciences) of 03 Hours’ Examination Duration (Group X & Physics Group – Y) consisting of 01 Section shall comprise 40 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions each. Every Correct Answer to every Correct Multiple Choice Questions of Objective Type shall carry 03 Marks with Penalty in Deduction of the 01 Mark for each Incorrect Response. The Paper shall be based on the Syllabus for the Computer Based Online Test / OMR Based Written Test in Chemistry is similar to the typical Standard Syllabus followed in any Indian university for the B.Sc. and M.Sc. Degree Course.

*Biology:*
The Paper in Biology consists of 04 Sections with 15 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions comprising therein. The Test will be extremely Basic and cover the Topics in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.	Based on the Candidates’ Combined Performance and Minimum Qualifying Marks obtained in Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Graduate Admissions School 2018, further Shortlisting shall be drawn up for each Program. The Shortlisted Candidates will be called for Final Selection Interviews for various Programs offered by Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in different Campuses of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research.

*Computer & System Sciences:*	Based on the Candidates’ Combined Performance and Minimum Qualifying Marks obtained in Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Graduate Admissions School 2018, further Shortlisting shall be drawn up for each Program. The Shortlisted Candidates will be called for Final Selection Interviews for various Programs offered by Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in different Campuses of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research.
The Paper in Computer & System Sciences with 03-Hours Examination Duration consists of 03 Parts, i.e., Part A, Part B & Part C. The Candidates shall have to necessarily fare Part A with the Option to take either Part B or Part C. Each Part in this Subject Paper contains 15 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions.
